Bibi Aisha, an 18-year-old woman from Oruzgan province in Afghanistan, fled back to her family home from her husband’s house, complaining of violent treatment. The Taliban arrived one night, demanding Bibi be handed over to face justice. After a Taliban commander pronounced his verdict, Bibi’s brother-in-law held her down and her husband sliced off her ears and then cut off her nose. Bibi was abandoned, but later rescued by aid workers and the U.S. military. After time in a women’s refuge in Kabul, she was taken to America, where she received counseling and reconstructive surgery. Bibi Aisha now lives in the U.S.

This should not be happening to anyone, anywhere, no matter what they did. Women have rights. Oh how I would love to study abroad in Afghanistan and show these women that they are strong and independent and show those men how they are low, life pieces of shit for treating women this way… I do not care what their religion says. It’s about right and wrong. && this is CLEARLY wrong.

So I have developed this new obsession… it’s with working out. And it’s a new obsession, i’m not quite sure where it is steaming from. It’s not like I am trying to lose weight—I just want to be healthy. I really noticed it this morning when I could not wait to get out of lab so I could go to the gym. While at the gym I pushed myself… a lot. To the point where I felt sick afterwards, but I couldn’t stop. I noticed this while on the elliptical. I was at about a mile and a half and was going to get off… but I didn’t. I stayed on until I did three miles and saw that I burned 407 calories! Then I began lifting. To top it off, I am going back to the gym this afternoon…
Can working out too much be a problem? If so why am I obsessed with it right now??
